Good morning this is Carter Conlon and welcome again to my morning. I have an interesting thought to share with you this morning and it's something I've been thinking about since I got up today and I want to go back to a scripture that I frequently visit because I think it's I think it's a scripture that defines what God's about to do again in this generation. The people he's about to choose and why he chooses them to use for his purposes and his glory perhaps in what would possibly be the last and greatest harvest before the return of Jesus Christ. Paul says in 1st Corinthians chapter 1 verse 26 and onward for you see your calling brethren not many wise according to the flesh not many mighty not many noble are called but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty and the base things of the world and things which are despised God has chosen and the things which are not to bring to nothing the things that are that no flesh should glory in his presence so here's the question I had this morning when I got up why does God not call many who are wise according to the flesh not many who are mighty and not many who are naturally noble why are they not called and I think we can see the answer in the book of Numbers now in the book of Numbers there's it's estimated that somewhere between 2 and 3 million people left Egypt under the hand of Moses and they came to the shores of the place eventually that God had promised he was going to give them a place that they knew as the promised land and the Lord told Moses in Numbers 13 and verse 1 verse 2 he said I'm he said send men to spy out the land of Canaan which I'm giving to the children of Israel from each tribe of their fathers you shall send a man every one a leader among them so that this is incredible like every man a leader so to rise to prominence in leadership you know especially in captivity which is probably where they came you know to some form of reputation and to be singled out to be the top dozen may have put it that way among almost two to three million people you have to be somewhat of a naturally strong leader you have to have a natural wisdom maybe some were born into you know more advantaged circumstances than others maybe that would account for nobility as Paul says in the New Testament so these 12 people these 12 men went into the promised land and 10 of them came back 10 of the 12 and said we can't do it it's not possible there's too much weaponry against us the people are too strong there's too many of them we're too few we simply can't do it and here's the point I want to make this morning it's hard for people who are naturally strong naturally wise naturally noble maybe we're born into like a better circumstance than others it's hard for these people who have gotten where they are to let go of who they are to let go of what got them there it's hard for them to let go of natural wisdom and natural strength and a natural sense of righteousness or whatever it is that nobility might might reference in this case they simply can't let themselves go because they feel they have too much to lose whereby the person that God chooses who's foolish knows that he doesn't have any wisdom he's got nothing to lose and the person is weak the person who's at the bottom of things the person who's despises it who he is and doesn't want to be like himself or herself and doesn't doesn't think anybody else would want to be the way I am either and then just if you think it can't get any worse he goes down to nothing that's the things that are not to bring to nothing the things that are there's no flesh and glory in his presence and here's the point I want to make if you're among those that are on the scale of foolish to nothing you don't have as much to let go as somebody who's risen to prominence because of natural strength natural ability and natural wisdom they can't let it go therefore they are relegated to the realm of human strength human intellect human righteousness human reasoning and they can't enter into the supernatural because they can't let go of the natural and that's why not many there might be some there's a few but not many but God chooses those people like you and me who just know that hey without you God we're not I'm nothing without you I have nothing to give without you I've got nowhere to go it has to be all you or it's not going to happen in other words there's no strategy there's no plan there's no natural wisdom to lean on there's no natural strength there's no there's no proven ability I don't I in other words I can't pull any levers I don't have access to power and such like I don't have access to money or fame or people's admiration whatever the case is and God says these are the people I choose because they know they know that they can't do this and they know that only I can and they're willing to let go of what little they do have to lay hold of what I want to give them you see those that are wise and strong and naturally noble can't they have such a hard time that's what happened you rise to the top of almost three million people and you don't have enough courage in a sense to lead these people in to the inheritance that God has promised them in a place called the promised land so that's why I gladly throw my hat in with the foolish and the and the unwise and the nobody's no nothing's of this world I think Paul says that's why I glory in my infirmities and my weaknesses that the power of God may rest upon me for when I am weak Paul said then I am strong he understood this it's good news for you today it's good news for the bulk of us that are not naturally wise not naturally noble or strong we know that our strength and wisdom and our forward journey has to come from God and the reason is according to Scripture that no flesh glories in the presence of God we all say only Jesus could have done this in my life this is Carter Conlon welcome to my morning and I really hope my morning makes you day God bless you
